"For such a rah-rah event meant to get developers excited to start building for Windows 8, Ballmer and the rest of the Microsoft team spent very little time talking about or showing off the Surface tablet, arguably Microsoft’s most exciting product. The tablet is due to launch at midnight on Oct. 26, at the same time as Windows 8. Yet the company has not let people have much hands-on time with the Surface and its innovative Touch Cover."

Another game that I’m really waiting for is Quantic Dreams’ Beyond: Two Souls. I’ve played through Fahrenheit and Heavy Rain and Beyond seems to continue on their path. This is the first trailer of the game from E3 2012.  (by IGNentertainment)

Watch Dogs is one of the games on my watch list. It seems to have potential that hopefully isn’t wasted during the development period. This is the trailer from  E3 2012 (by IGNentertainment). You should probably see the gameplay video, too.

The Kasper Stromman Design Blog: Children's Book of the Month: Djursjukhuset

Kasper Strömman is at it again. What a wonderful concept for a children’s book. Those colours  Those animals!

The Kasper Stromman Design Blog Children’s Book of the Month is Djursjukhuset by talented young author Nora Strömman. It truly is a feast for all senses.

The book tells the story of a hospital for animals run by animals – but it’s the illustrations that really makes this…

Howl’s Moving Castle.

Favorite moment.

That’s pretty.

The Boston Dynamics Cheetah just clocked a 28.3 miles per hour sprint on a treadmill, and it’s heading outdoors soon. At that speed, it could edge out the world’s fastest man, Usain Bolt in a dead sprint. (Bolt peaked at 27.78 miles per hour in his world record setting 100 meter dash back in 2009.)

How do you build the new one-design Volvo Ocean Race monohull? You start with a hull. Yet, you need a mould to build that hull. And you need a plug to build that mould.

Landscaped with tall trees and bushes, the long facade is constructed out of perforated metal panels to provide privacy from the street level. These pieces can be opened to reveal the interior bedrooms. Large glass sliding doors are integrated into the corridor of the space transforming the volume into a pavilion completely exposed to nature. The other levels of the building sit on a stone base which is terraced into the playing grounds.

Artists Julian Charriere and Julius von Bismarck devised a rooftop pigeon-painting apparatus to spruce up some of Venice’s flying verman. The bird flies into the apparatus grey and drab-looking, then it is sent down a conveyer belt and automatically airbrushed with vibrantly-colored spray paint, before it’s sent back out into the world looking more exotic parrot than common city pigeon.

I love the way Apple teases the Iphone 5 release with this one. This is also relevant because I’m waiting for Iphone 5 to be released as I’m upgrading this fall.

Wow. I can’t wait to start watching season five…

New album from Phoebe Kreutz - produced by Casey Holford himself!

(via The Age of Reasonableness | Phoebe Kreutz)

I love the artwork, music and presentation. Unfortunately the game itself might not be of interest to me.

This is the 500 kV Eldorado Substation near Boulder City, Nevada. It shows a three-phase motorized air disconnect switcher attempting to open high voltage being supplied to a large three phase shunt line reactor.

Not looking at Savonlinna Opera Festival.

Looking at actual work related stuff just like he is supposed to.
